Suction Ears Audiology · 6 to 12 months inEnquiries doubled, and the clinic week did too

Vicky was getting burned out, and new clients were the potential bulk of the business she was struggling to reach. Newspapers, flier drops, Spotify and social media had taken money, time and sleep, without many bookings to show for it. One of her Clinic Mastery mentors, Damien, recommended a call with Pete, and cost nearly stopped her going ahead. We built Google Ads and wired in conversion tracking, and by Vicky's count new patient enquiries went from 5 a week to 10 to 12. She hired a graduate clinician, opened more days at other sites, and the clinic now runs across 6 days a week instead of 3. The books sit at a steady flow, on $1,000 to $2,500 a month in ad spend.

The starting position

Where the clinic was when we started.

Vicky was getting burned out, and that is her own description. She did not know much marketing lingo or how to get more clients. And she needed to get clients, because new people were the potential bulk of the business.

She had already spent a lot finding out what did not work. Newspapers, flier drops, Spotify, social media. The money went out and not many potential clients booked in from any of it, and her own list of what it cost reads: money, time and sleep.

Two of those channels she kept, deliberately. Social media stayed for the engagement and awareness, and the flier drops stayed because they are cheaper marketing she can do herself. The rest of the problem needed a different answer.

Vicky was already part of Clinic Mastery, and one of her mentors there, Damien, recommended Pete, so she booked in a call. Cost was probably the biggest thing that nearly stopped her. She is honest that she still wonders whether spending less somewhere else might have brought more clients in, and just as honest that she has not researched it.

What we did

The work, in the order we did it.

Built the Google Ads campaign, the channel she had never tried.

Newspapers, Spotify, fliers and social media had all had their turn at the budget. Google Ads had not, and it is the channel that reaches people at the moment they go looking. The campaign went after the clients Suction Ears Audiology actually wants, and in Vicky's words, there were more clients booking in, which was great to see.

Wired in conversion tracking, so the spend could prove itself.

The old marketing spent a lot and left Vicky guessing about what came back. Conversion tracking counts the enquiries the campaign produces, so the question that nearly stopped her, whether the money could do more elsewhere, now has data standing against it. By her count, a week that used to bring 5 new patient enquiries brings 10 to 12.

Provided the data and explained it, with the results doing the talking.

Vicky says she still does not always follow the marketing lingo, and she does not have to. Pete explains the work and provides the data, and the measure she watches is the clients coming through. As long as she was seeing growth, she knew she was in a good spot. Her words.

Stayed responsive when the diary raised a concern.

What stands out for Vicky is the advice, the responsiveness to concerns in the diary, and the work put into it. Pete is also a little bit like a mentor, she says, passionate about helping the business grow. And she says the other part plainly too: the results are great, and she wants more. That ask shapes what comes next.

Five channels, one sort

The work was not more marketing. It was deciding what each channel was for.

Newspapers

Dropped

Spent a lot, without many potential clients booking in.

Spotify

Dropped

Same story. Money out, not many bookings back.

Social media

Kept

Her call, for the engagement and awareness.

Flier drops

Kept

Cheaper marketing she can do herself, her words.

Google Ads

Added

The channel she had never tried, with every enquiry counted.

The verdicts and the reasons are Vicky's own account of what she tried, what she kept and why. Nothing here is a measured attribution of where each enquiry came from.

The numbers

Before and after, line by line.

Every figure in this table is Vicky's own count and her own words, not our ad account reporting. A typical week used to bring 5 new patient enquiries and now brings 10 to 12, on $1,000 to $2,500 a month in ad spend. The clinic week itself doubled, from 3 days to 6, and a graduate clinician came on to help carry it.

What the next doubling is for

The books hold one full caseload. The plan is two.

Caseload one

Filled

The client numbers today suit one clinician, Vicky's reading. It took the enquiries doubling, a graduate clinician hired, and the week stretching to 6 days to get here.

Caseload two

The next job

Vicky's goal in her own words: enough clients that two clinicians could be fully taking the workload, full time. That is the brief the campaign works toward now.

What filling it buys, in her words

More sleep
No more locum jobs
Room to take other work she wants

Both caseload states and all three unlocks are Vicky's own words about her goal, not a forecast from us and not a promise about results.

I don't think I could have gotten my clients at the moment without Peter helping me on Google Ads. 6 months ago, I was feeling quite lost with marketing and tried a lot of things like newspapers, Spotify, social media posting, speaking with GPs and trying to make connections that way, but I had no idea about Google Ads or whether this would have helped and I was going to take a chance on it. Peter was passionate to find out a bit more about my business and helped with explaning, providing the data (which sometimes I do not understand the marketing lingo), but it was all about the results and the clients coming through that mattered. So as long as I was seeing growth, I knew I was in a good spot with Peter's help - and I was seeing that growth in my business. My clients had doubled with Peter's help and I can't wait to see what else Peter can do to help it grow more.

What's next

Where the work goes from here.

The client numbers today suit one clinician, and Vicky wants them filling two, full time. When that happens, she says, she would probably have more sleep, would not have to take on locum jobs, and could actually seize other employment as well. She has also asked for more, more enquiries and some strategies to implement to get there, and that is the brief for the next stretch. Her advice to another clinic owner sitting where she was six months ago: marketing takes a lot of time and effort, and if it is not your calling, delegate it to someone who knows their stuff and let them guide what will and will not work for your business.
